Texas Congresswoman Kay Granger, "Missing" Since July, Found Living in Memory Care Facility

Texas Congresswoman Kay Granger, who has been “missing” since July, was recently found to be living in a memory care facility.

As Congress debates crucial spending bills, residents of Texas Congressional District 12 have been wondering the whereabouts of Granger. Her last recorded vote was on July 24th, 2024, opposing an amendment to reduce a government official’s salary. Since then, she has missed multiple votes, with no communication about her absence.

The Dallas Express reached out to her district and D.C. offices, only to be met with voicemail messages. When the team of reporters visited her office, it was locked, with no sign of activity. They were told her team had packed up before Thanksgiving, as she is retiring at the end of the session.

A tip led the team to a local memory care facility, where they confirmed Granger’s residence. Employees at the facility acknowledged, “This is her home,” but declined to comment on her voting plans.

Tarrant County Republican Chairman Bo French expressed concern, noting the lack of representation during critical votes. “The margin in Congress is razor thin, and the lack of a Republican vote representing CD-12 disenfranchises 2 million people,” he said.

Many residents, like Hollie Plemons, feel it’s time for Granger to step down. “She needs to resign,” Plemons said. Granger remains on the taxpayer payroll until January 3rd, 2025, despite being absent during critical votes.
