A Texas substitute teacher was fired and arrested after videos surfaced showing an altercation with a teenage girl in a foreign language class at Lehman High School in Kyle, Texas, according to local reports.
Tiffani, 32, was charged with second degree felony aggravated assault, according to those reports. The charge is an allegation, and Baller Alert could not find a public statement from Tiffani or an attorney.
A 10th grade student who asked not to be identified told reporters that the teacher and the student exchanged words before the situation turned physical. The student said the teacher got in the girl’s face and put her hands on her, and that the girl swung and a fight followed. The student’s account has not been independently confirmed.
The substitute was arrested right away, and the student was taken to a local hospital for evaluation by her father, according to reports.
Lehman High School Principal Karen Zuniga said in a statement from the Hays school district that the behavior is not tolerated and that the district took swift action. District spokesperson Tim Savoy added that nothing could justify what is seen in the video.
