New documents are adding another twist to the accusation involving Dallas Cowboys rookie Ezekiel Elliott. Black Sports Online reported that sworn affidavits and text messages tied to the case are now circulating.
Some background: in July, Elliott’s ex girlfriend, Tiffany, posted photos of injuries on Instagram and accused Elliott of assaulting her. As of this report, Elliott had not been charged, and the Cowboys had not removed him from the team.
According to the report, a friend of Elliott’s said in an affidavit that he was with Elliott and another woman on the night in question when they pulled up to Elliott’s home and saw Tiffany. The friend said Tiffany argued with them and that Elliott never came within five feet of her. He also claimed that Tiffany said she was going to ruin Elliott’s career by telling police that he hit her, and that she later asked him to back up her version of events.
A female friend of Tiffany’s who went with her to the house reportedly gave a similar account in her own affidavit, saying Tiffany was angry when she saw another woman driving Elliott’s car. Two more affidavits were also reported. Since the gathering was Elliott’s birthday celebration, there were a lot of people present.
None of this has been tested in court, and these are claims made in affidavits and text messages that were reported by one outlet. We did not see a public response from Tiffany to the reported documents at the time of publishing, and it was unclear whether Elliott planned any legal action.
