Baller Alert obtained text messages that Russell “Hollywood” Simpson says are between him and his former employer, NFL free agent Kerry Rhodes. Baller Alert was the first outlet to report Hollywood’s account of a relationship with Rhodes, and these messages are part of our ongoing coverage.
According to Hollywood, the messages show him running errands for Rhodes, using a nickname for him, and exchanging “I love you” before a breakup. One message reads, “I just want us to be super close without the relationship.” Hollywood says the number in the messages is no longer Rhodes’ current phone number.
Baller Alert has not independently verified the messages. Rhodes has publicly denied that he and Hollywood were in a relationship. He told TMZ, “I am not gay,” and his camp has disputed Hollywood’s account. Rhodes has not responded to this release.
