The season seven finale winner of The Masked Singer was announced last night.
Teyana Taylor was revealed as the Firefly who won the top prize during the episode, making her the youngest winner of the series in history.
Taylor stated that she agreed to be on The Masked Singer because she wanted to be free to perform for pleasure without the pressure of fame.
“I was like, this would be something really nice to do and just be able to sing again,” she explained. “It would be fun again and there’s no judgment. Nobody knows who’s behind the mask. You just get to sing your heart out.”
She said, “Joining this competition meant I had to face my fears and come out of retirement. I refused to fade away. And being on the stage has allowed me to shine bright again. Never give up on Firefly, and I’ll never give up on you.”
Later in the show, Glee’s Cheyenne Jackson and The Goldberg’s star Hayley Orrantia were revealed as The Prince and Ringmaster.
