Terrence Howard’s ex girlfriend has been arrested after police say she showed up at his home and attacked him.
According to the police report, the two had been in a relationship for years, but after Howard broke things off, she kept trying to contact him. Around 11 p.m. on May 6, she allegedly showed up at the gate of his home, where she was met by Howard’s current girlfriend.
Howard says he heard a loud noise and went outside. He and his girlfriend told police they opened the gate and let her in to avoid a disturbance, and that she immediately started punching him in the face. Police noted Howard had no visible swelling to his face.
The woman, 39, was arrested and charged with simple assault, defiant trespass, harassment and disorderly conduct. She is due in court for a preliminary hearing in June.
The lesson here is simple. When an ex you’ve been trying to avoid shows up at your gate late at night, that’s not the time to invite her in for a conversation. Call the police and let them handle it.
