It was reported last week that Cleveland Cavaliers forward Tristan Thompson had been suspended for 25 games due to his violation of the NBA’s drug policy.
The 32-year-old tested positive for ibutamoren and SARM LGD-4033, a growth hormone enhancer that helps with recovery and muscle strength. This news caused confusion among sports commentators as Thompson had only been averaging about 12 minutes per game.
Jeff Teague and the Club 520 Podcast provided humorous commentary as they reacted to the news.
“What are you taking steroids for? It’s over N*^#$$*,” the former NBA point guard Teague said. “Tristan Foreal, what are you taking the roids for?” Co-host Bishop joked that he may have taken something to stay active while traveling and enjoying extracurricular activities city to city.
“He probably taking some other sh*& bro, for off-the-court actions. Sh&^ got caught up in his system,” Bishop said. “He was trying to go Thunderstorm in that sh^%,” Teague joked. “That boy done bought that bulldog.” Co-host DJ Wells got in on the jokes, too, “That n&%$$ put the honey packet in his Gatorade and got active.”
They mentioned that they had a place on the podcast for Tristan. As an experienced veteran and leader, this may have been his last opportunity to stick in the league during the back end of his career.
“Boy you know it’s over now, you know I love you n%$^&^ come on f&^% with me,” Teague said. “Go back to ESPN, because basketball is over now buddy.” ” Yeah cause a n*^$% is not getting in the game taking steroids, yall know what time it is,” Bishop said. “Cheating for no reason is hilarious,” DJ Wells mentioned and that is the funniest part to casual NBA fan.
