Richard Schiff, star of the ABC medical drama “The Good Doctor,”  is currently in the hospital battling COVID-19. The actor took to Twitter on Monday to give fans an update on him and his wife, actress Sheila Kelley, who also tested positive for the virus.

“Covid update. Thank you all for so much love and support. You’re making it so much easier for @thesheilakelly and me. I am in the hospital on Remdesivir, O2, and steroids showing some improvement every day. Sheila is home and doing better but still fairly ill. Love you all.”

The 65-year-old actor revealed that he had initially tested positive for COVID-19 on November 3rd, followed by his wife and their son.

Kelley documented her husband’s ordeal in an Instagram post on Monday, saying she’s “never experienced anything like this” in her life.

“The last 72 hours have been tough. LOML (love of my life) @therichardschiff is now in the hospital on oxygen and remdesivir,” Kelley revealed in her post. “Thank you all of you for the prayers and love. We feel them. He’s doing better. Getting stronger.”

She also gave fans some insight into the toll that the virus has taken on her body.

“One minute I’m feeling pretty good, and the next I’m struggling to breathe,” she said. “My body is leading me through this, and I am grateful to her.”

Husband and wife work alongside one another in “The Good Doctor,” portraying Dr. Aaron Glassman and Debbie Wexler. The series, which is in its fourth season, will remain in production at this time despite Richard and Kelley testing positive.
