The three children and three adults shot and killed at Covenant School in Nashville Monday have been identified.
The Metro Nashville Police Department said in a tweet that the students killed were all nine years old. They were identified as Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs and William Kinney. The three adults killed in the shooting were identified as 61-year-old Cynthia Peak, 60-year-old Katherine Koonce and 61-year-old Mike Hill, police said.
“Our community is heartbroken,” the Covenant School said in a statement. “We are grieving tremendous loss and are in shock coming out of the terror that shattered our school and church. We are focused on loving our students, our families, our faculty and staff, and beginning the process of healing.”

Mike Hill, 61
Hill was a custodian at the school and had worked there for more than 13 years, says a friend.
Cynthia Peak, 61
Peak was a substitute teacher at the school, per Nashville authorities.
Katherine Koonce, 60
Koonce was the head of the Covenant School, according to its website.
Hallie Scruggs, 9
Scruggs is the daughter of Chad Scruggs, the senior pastor at Covenant Presbyterian Church, which is affiliated with the school.
Evelyn Dieckhaus, 9
Dieckhaus was a third-grade student at the school, per The Tennessean.
William Kinney, 9
William Kinney was also a student at The Covenant School.
Monday, 28-year-old Audrey Hale, a former student of the private Christian school, opened fire inside the building killing six. Authorities say the assailant had drawn a detailed map of the school, including potential entry points, and conducted surveillance before her attack. Tuesday, bodycam footage was released showing police officers responding to the shooting and taking down Hale.
