There is a new twist in the Houston area burglary involving Theresa and her massive three story closet.
Earlier this month we told you about Theresa, a Houston area woman who showed off her 3,000 square foot closet of designer bags, shoes and jewelry on local television, only to be burglarized soon after. She has said the items were worth more than $1 million.
According to the Houston Press and local station KTRK, someone claiming to be the burglar contacted Houston Press reporter Craig Malisow by phone, using a voice changer, and said the stolen items were “all fakes.” The Houston Press also reported receiving a package that included a locket with strands of hair, similar to one taken in the burglary. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office sent a detective to collect the items.
Theresa denies the claim. She told reporters the caller was attempting to extort her and that she refused to pay. She said her collection is authentic and that, like any woman’s closet, it holds a mix of valuable, costume and vintage pieces.
No one has been charged, and the caller’s claims have not been verified. The Houston Press noted there was no way to confirm the items came from her closet.
