Tiffany Haddish is defending rapper Blueface after he received criticism for a viral video of him making it rain on the homeless and destitute people living on Skid Row in Downtown Los Angeles. She claims that Blueface’s charitable actions are somewhat of a tradition.

In an interview with TMZ, Haddish, who grew up in South Central, said there’s a long history of gangbangers giving out money by standing on their cars and hurling money in the air. ”To those people that say it’s dehumanizing and degrading, obviously haven’t lived in the hood,” Haddish said.

”For my entire life, I have known a lot of men with money that are affiliated to jump on top of their best vehicle and make it rain, make it rain on everybody,” she said.

”Are they saying it’s degrading when the men are in the club, and they throwing money and the women got to pick that money up off the ground with no clothes on?” Haddish asked. ”It’s not unusual; it’s actually, from my experience, traditional.”

Many critics on social media slammed the rapper claiming the video was actually degrading and dehumanizing to the very people he was trying to help. But the comedian said it would’ve been degrading if Blueface threw out one-dollar bills, but since it was one hundred dollar bills, the money will actually provide comfort for lots of people in need. ”It’s a blessing; it’s falling from the sky,” Haddish said. “Money falling from the sky. It’s a blessing.”

Blueface posted the video on his Instagram account on Monday, captioning it, “The season of giving $.”
