Tiger Woods was injured in a car accident outside his Florida home, just days after a report claimed he was cheating on his wife.
According to ESPN, Woods hit a fire hydrant and then a tree while pulling out of his driveway early this morning. He was taken to the hospital.
The crash came right after a tabloid report, picked up by Dlisted, claimed Woods had been seeing a New York nightclub hostess named Rachel. According to the report, she told friends the two had met up in Australia, Los Angeles and Las Vegas, that they were in love and that they texted constantly. Woods has not responded to the report.
Baller Alert is praying for a speedy recovery. This story is still developing.
UPDATED: ESPN reports Woods was treated and released from the hospital.
UPDATED: TMZ is now reporting a very different version of what happened before the crash. Citing a source who says they spoke with Woods, TMZ claims his wife, Elin Nordegren, confronted him about the cheating reports, and that his facial injuries came from that argument, not the crash. The source claims Elin followed him outside with a golf club and hit the SUV as he drove away, and that Woods got distracted and hit the hydrant and the tree. The source also says Woods had been taking prescription pain medication.
None of that has been confirmed, and Woods has not yet been formally interviewed by the Florida Highway Patrol. Neither Woods nor Elin has commented.
