Tiger Woods is determined to get back on the green and is using his passion for golf to fuel his current recovery.
Following his DUI arrest in late March, the 50-year-old icon has been leaning into treatment to get his life back on track. Shortly after the incident, Woods took to Twitter to let his fans know he was “stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment” to handle his health issues.
At the time, Woods made it clear that he had to put himself first, stating, “This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery.
Sources close to the golfer say he is now doing the heavy lifting required to improve both his mental and physical state. It’s no secret that years of high-level play and a brutal workout regimen have left him dealing with significant physical wear and tear.
“He knows he needs to beat his issues and also deal with the pain from not only playing golf but also from his regular fitness schedule,” a source mentioned. He isn’t doing it alone, though. “People around him are supporting him, both personally and professionally. All of this is helping him deal with it enough to get through it.”
Even with the uphill battle of age and past injuries, those in his circle believe Woods “still has golf in him” and could potentially show up at the Masters or other major events down the line.
While the road is definitely getting “harder” for the legend, his primary focus isn’t just a trophy. As one source noted, “He just wants to get better in all areas of his life.”
