Now a Tampa Bay Buccaneer after 20 seasons with the New England Patriots, quarterback Tom Brady is looking to make it official by trademarking different terms.

According to ESPN, upon Brady’s arrival to  Buccaneer organization, his agents trademarked the phrase “TB x TB,” and now they’re looking to trademark even more terms.

Brady is now trying to trademark the terms “Tompa Bay” and “Tampa Brady,” the outlet reports.

The 6 time Super Bowl champion is hoping to use the terms for merchandise such as clothing, headwear, and footwear.

Brady and his team filed for the new phrases with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on Monday, while “TB X TB” was filed as early as March 20.

However, people have already begun filing trademarks for these terms.

Public records show that on March 31 a St. Petersburg, Florida resident filed a trademark application for the phrase “Tompa Bay” to use on hats and shirts,  while a man in Phoenix filed an app for several phrases, including “Tompa Bay,” “Tompa Bay Beach Club,” “Tompa Bay Florida” and “Tompa Bay Buccaneers” on March 18 with hopes of using the phrases on athletic apparel such as shirts, pants, jackets, footwear, hats, caps, and athletic uniforms, ESPN revealed.

“Tompa Bay” also began to surface on t-shirts online before the filing.

Last year, Brady attempted to trademark the phrase “Tom Terrific,” but had no luck due to the fact that it was deemed to have a connection to Hall of Fame pitcher Tom Seaver.

“I never understood why Drew wasn’t making Drew Orleans shirts,” Brady said on Twitter in response to a tweet about him trademarking the before mentioned terms.

The 2020-2021 NFL season will commence Brady’s journey with the Buccaneers.
