A source is making some noteworthy claims about Tom Cruise and his daughter Suri, who was 12 years old at the time of this report.
According to US Weekly, a source said Cruise is entitled to see Suri up to 10 days a month under the parenting arrangement he has with his ex wife, Katie Holmes, but does not. The source told the magazine, “Every person is allowed to see their child if they wanted to. He chooses not to because she is not a Scientologist.” The source also claimed Cruise has not been photographed with his daughter since 2013.
The source was not named, and neither Cruise nor Holmes has publicly confirmed the claims.
Tony Ortega, a Scientology critic and former editor in chief of The Village Voice, offered his own opinion on the custody situation. Ortega speculated that Holmes likely signed a nondisclosure agreement about Scientology as part of securing primary custody. “She wanted to get away and she wanted to get Suri,” Ortega said. That is his theory and has not been confirmed.
The report also notes that Cruise has two adopted children, Connor and Isabella, from his previous marriage to actress Nicole Kidman. According to the report, the two lived with Cruise after the couple divorced in 2001 and were raised in the Church of Scientology.
We will keep you posted if Cruise or Holmes responds.
