Back in January, Toni Braxton sparked rumors of a split from Birdman after she scrubbed her Instagram account of all things The #1 Stunna, leaving one message for the new year: “Always choose to be chosen.”
“Starting a new chapter isn’t always an easy choice,” Braxton wrote underneath the one photo that remained, which, in turn, sparked speculation that things may have been finished and done between the two. However, Braxton’s actions only came after Birdman left an even more obvious message on his Instagram story that read: “It’s over…,” which was later deleted.
As fans ran with the rumors, neither party addressed the allegations. A few weeks later, Birdman surprised Braxton after her show, seemingly putting an end to the rumors. But now, just three months after the initial inquiries, Braxton is opening up about the entire ordeal. In fact, she says she’s clueless on how the rumors even developed.
“We don’t know what happened,” Braxton told ET. “It just kind of [came out of nowhere]. Someone said it, and we were like, ‘Ok, we’ll just ride with it because it’ll give us some privacy. So that’s good. But we’re good.”
So, is the engagement still on? When’s the wedding? It looks like we will have to wait for the return of “Braxton Family Values.”
