Tony Buzbee Has Now Withdrawn from 15 Diddy Lawsuits in New York

The number of Diddy lawsuits that Tony Buzbee has withdrawn from has reached 15.

After an ongoing feud with Jay-Z, the controversial attorney’s troubles deepened as he stepped back from multiple sexual abuse cases involving Sean “Diddy” Combs. Buzbee made the decision to withdraw from over a dozen federal lawsuits in New York, citing an error in his ability to practice law in the jurisdiction. In a statement to Judge Ronnie Abrams, Buzbee admitted he had failed to disclose his lack of admission to the Southern District of New York but reassured the court that he was in good standing with the New York State Bar.

Buzbee explained that his withdrawal was intended to prevent any distractions that could hinder the pursuit of justice for the plaintiffs. He emphasized his focus remained on representing clients in state courts and other jurisdictions, where he is properly admitted. Despite this, Buzbee’s exit does not mark the end of his involvement in the Combs litigation; his colleagues, who are properly admitted, will continue handling the federal cases.

Buzbee’s legal representation of 120 individuals alleging abuse by Combs has sparked controversy, especially after expanding a lawsuit to include Jay-Z as a defendant, accusing him of participating in a 2000 rape. That case was later dropped. With these latest developments, Buzbee’s withdrawal from the federal cases underscores the challenges he faces as he navigates both legal hurdles and public scrutiny.
