Tory Lanez just found out the hard way that clowning in court doesn’t come cheap. According to court docs obtained by AllHipHop, a federal judge has ordered the rapper to pay Megan Thee Stallion’s legal fees after he disrupted a Zoom deposition from behind bars with jokes and outbursts that left everyone shaking their heads.
The deposition was tied to Megan’s ongoing defamation lawsuit against blogger Milagro Gramz. Lanez was scheduled to be questioned on April 9th, but instead of cooperating, he mocked the proceedings. According to the court, he interrupted questions, hurled insults, and even cracked on Megan’s attorney, telling her to “comb her hair.”
The session lasted less than an hour before it had to be cut short due to his behavior.
Megan’s legal team quickly filed a motion, questioning why Lanez shouldn’t be held in contempt. The judge gave him until April 30th to respond, but Lanez didn’t say a word and didn’t ask for an extension either. That silence just cost him.
Now, the court says he’s on the hook for Megan’s legal expenses from that day. Going forward, a magistrate judge will supervise his future depositions, and Megan’s team wants a special master, paid for by Lanez, to keep things in check.
This is just one chapter in Megan’s case against Milagro Gramz, who she claims spread falsehoods about her with help from Lanez and his father. Last month, Gramz was also ordered to pay $5,000 for delaying access to her social media in the case.
