Trey Songz will not face a misdemeanor charge in his Los Angeles domestic violence case. The L.A. City Attorney’s office rejected the case on Friday, citing insufficient evidence.
The case stems from an incident in February during NBA All Star weekend. A woman named Andrea claimed that Songz punched her in the face at a party in the Hollywood Hills and that she suffered a concussion. Songz has denied the claim.
According to TMZ, his lawyer provided witness statements that contradicted Andrea’s original account. The city attorney’s decision comes about a month after the L.A. District Attorney reportedly decided not to pursue felony charges.
Neither Andrea nor her representatives had publicly responded to the decision at the time of this report.
