Trey Songz turned himself in to Los Angeles authorities on Monday, March 19, 2018, on suspicion of felony domestic violence. He denies the allegation.

The case stems from an alleged incident last month in L.A. during NBA All Star weekend. A woman named Andrea reportedly told police that Songz hit her in the face after an argument. Songz disputes her account, and his lawyer has said her story has holes.

According to TMZ, Songz surrendered around 6 a.m. and was released about two hours later on $50,000 bond. About an hour after that, he posted a statement on Twitter explaining why he decided to speak up after weeks of silence on the advice of his lawyers and management.

“I am being lied on and falsely accused for someone’s personal gain,” he wrote. He added that he would not be speaking much more on the matter and thanked fans and loved ones for their support.

An arrest is an accusation, not a finding of guilt. Baller Alert will follow any updates from the court.
