The three individuals accused of supplying Mac Miller with the drugs that led to his death have reportedly been given a trial date.
Cameron Pettit, Stephen Walter, and Ryan Reavis are scheduled to appear in court on November 16.
All three individuals were accused in 2019 of supplying cocaine, oxycodone, and Xanax to the Pittsburgh rapper. Prosecutors stated the drugs Pettit provided Mac were fake and included fentanyl at the time. Walter allegedly used Reavis as a runner to deliver the drugs to Pettit.
U.S. Attorney Nick Hanna said in a statement announcing the federal grand jury indictment, “It has become increasingly common for us to see drug dealers peddling counterfeit pharmaceuticals made with fentanyl. As a consequence, fentanyl is now the No. 1 cause of overdose deaths in the United States.”
According to the US Attorney, Reavis, Pettit, and Walter allegedly continued to distribute narcotics following Mac’s death while fully aware of the dangers their drugs presented to human life. Pettit was arrested and jailed without bail in September of this year. The Drug Enforcement Administration invaded Reavis’ home in Lake Havasu, Arizona, and discovered prescribed drugs, firearms, and ammo. The following day, Walter was apprehended in Los Angeles. For moreover two years, all three individuals have been imprisoned without bail in federal detention.
According to AllHipHop, Reavis is accused of fraud, possession of marijuana, prescription drugs, drug paraphernalia, firearms misconduct by a prohibited possessor, and the manufacture of a prohibited weapon.
According to his lawyer, Correen Ferrentino, her client hoped the court would isolate his case from that of his co-defendants because he was merely an “alleged runner and minor participant who is said to be involved in one transaction.” On September 7th, 2018, Mac was discovered unresponsive at his Los Angeles residence. He died by an accidental overdose of fentanyl, cocaine, and alcohol, according to an autopsy.
