Donald Trump is reportedly considering commuting Sean “Diddy” Combs’ 50-month prison sentence as early as this week, according to a high-ranking White House source.
The insider tells TMZ that Trump has been “vacillating” on the decision, with some senior staff urging him not to go through with it. Still, the source made one thing clear: “Trump will do what he wants.”
If he signs the order, Diddy could walk free within days, cutting short what was supposed to be more than four years behind bars.
Diddy is currently serving a 50-month sentence for violating the Mann Act, a federal law involving the transport of individuals across state lines for illegal purposes. He’s already completed about 13 months, and with credit for good behavior, he could be released in roughly two years.
But if Trump decides to grant the commutation, none of that would matter. The move would effectively erase the rest of Diddy’s time, setting him free immediately.
