A 67 year old Florida man is accused of hitting a 13 year old girl with a flagpole during a street corner demonstration supporting President Donald Trump in Orange Park, Clay County, on Wednesday, September 16.
According to Action News Jax, Norbert has been charged with felony child abuse. The incident was recorded on video by the girl’s mother, Crystal, and the arrest report notes redness on the right side of the girl’s face. News4Jax reported that he was released on bail.
Crystal told reporters that she made a U-turn in a parking lot and drove past the demonstrators. She said Norbert was making a rude gesture at passing drivers, and that she and her daughter returned it and shouted “Biden 2020.” She said she then pulled into a turn lane and Norbert ran up to the car with the flagpole and struck her daughter in the face and chest.
“I was scared out of my mind, because my daughter was getting hit in the face, and I couldn’t tell where, but I knew she was getting hit with a pole,” Crystal said. She said she tried to roll up the window but could not pull forward because another car was in front of her.
Crystal gave deputies the license plate number, and according to the arrest report, they identified Norbert and arrested him at his home. Action News Jax said it reached out to him by text and he declined to comment. The charge is an allegation, and he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

Nevermind that the 13 year old girl was screaming obscenities and using hand gestures… the mother accepts no responsibility I suppose. He absolutely should not have shoved the round end of that flagpole into their car but the mother and her 13 year old child should not have been provoking him either. They could simply have kept driving and refrained from yelling out of their car and this could have been avoided.
