Trump’s Sons Position Themselves to Profit From His War With Billion-Dollar Drone Deal

Donald Trump’s sons are making a bold business move tied to the expanding military drone market, positioning themselves to potentially profit from defense spending during their father’s administration.

Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump are investors in Powerus, a drone startup aiming to secure Pentagon contracts as the United States ramps up domestic drone production. According to The Wall Street Journal, the West Palm Beach-based company was formed in 2025 and has already begun acquiring smaller firms to scale its operations.

The investment comes as the Pentagon pushes its Drone Dominance initiative, a program expected to spend about $1.1 billion on American-made drone systems by 2027. The policy push also follows new restrictions on Chinese drone models that previously dominated both consumer and commercial markets in the United States. Because of those changes, American companies are now racing to fill the gap.

Powerus has already purchased three smaller drone businesses and is working toward producing more than 10,000 units each month. The company plans to go public through a reverse merger with Aureus Greenway Holdings, a Florida golf course holding firm, which would allow the business to trade on the Nasdaq and access new capital for expansion.

CEO Andrew Fox explained the opportunity clearly.

“The drone market is certainly going to grow faster than, say, golf courses are.”

Powerus co-founder Brett Velicovich, a U.S. Army special operations veteran who has advised drone companies in both the United States and Ukraine, said the company is also exploring partnerships with Ukrainian manufacturers. “There does need to be an American face in front of it or behind it,” he told The Wall Street Journal.

Velicovich also said, “Bringing Powerus to this point has been years in the making. I’ve been a huge advocate for our ability to deliver tools to the warfighter that match and exceed the challenges of the new battlefield. This event today is a huge step forward in realizing that vision, and we’re excited to execute on our plan for American drone dominance.”
