A man has been charged with misdemeanor assault after a video showed him exhaling on two women outside Trump National Golf Club in Virginia, according to CBS News.
Raymond, 61, was seen in a video posted on social media by a journalist, who dated it November 21, 2020. Protesters and supporters of President Donald Trump had gathered outside the club, where Trump was set to play golf. In the video, the women tell the man to move away and point out that he is not wearing a mask. One of them says, “That’s assault,” and he is heard answering, “I breathed on you,” before exhaling on them again. A protester told CBS News that he walked over from across the street.
CBS News reported that masks are not required outdoors in general, though a Virginia mandate requires them in certain locations. After the incident, members of the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors sent a letter to law enforcement asking for a full investigation. The sheriff’s office said deputies did not see the encounter and that the video did not capture all of it. The women were told they could seek a warrant through a county magistrate, and Raymond was then charged with misdemeanor assault.
The case had not been decided at the time of this report, and a charge is not a finding of guilt. Baller Alert will follow any updates shared by officials.
