Donald Trump is no stranger to controversy, but his latest AI-generated video depicting a futuristic, luxury-filled Gaza has even his most loyal supporters raising eyebrows.
The 33-second clip, which Trump shared on his Truth Social platform, reimagines war-torn Gaza as a glitzy metropolis, complete with beachfront skyscrapers, money raining from the sky, and even a massive golden statue of Trump himself. The video includes surreal scenes of Elon Musk dining by the ocean, a nightclub where Trump is seen dancing, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu lounging poolside. The background music, featuring lyrics like “Trump Gaza shining bright, golden future, brand new light,” adds to the over-the-top spectacle.
While the video was likely intended to showcase Trump’s vision for Gaza’s potential redevelopment, many of his supporters were not impressed. The comment section on Truth Social quickly filled with backlash, with users calling the video “poor judgment” and “in very poor taste.”
One user, @Speedy13, wrote, “I have the upmost [sic] respect for you sir, but this video is wrong.” Another, @StanWhite101, said, “I could not be a bigger supporter of President Trump, but this particular video is in very poor taste. Very poor taste, indeed!”
Others were even more critical, with @TPV_Amy writing, “This feels all wrong and actually makes me sick. I have supported you since Day 1 but this is filth. There is no God in this.” @Susan echoed similar sentiments, saying, “How horrible! The golden statue is frightening. Reminds me of the Antichrist. Please don’t forget that this is not pleasing to God.”
The most baffling element for many was the inclusion of “bearded belly dancers” and scenes of Trump dancing with someone other than his wife. User @BeverlyJackson10 commented, “This was weird for me and I love you Trump—this should be deleted; not good.”
