Starting Saturday, Turks and Caicos will do away with its requirement for travelers to have a COVID-19 vaccination.

T&C’s Ministry of Health and Human Services announced that the popular destination would lift the requirement but still strongly recommends visitors receive both the COVID-19 vaccine and flu vaccine, Travel and Leisure reported. Still, neither will be required to enter the island.

“Taking into consideration where we are as a nation as it relates to the Covid-19 Pandemic, the Cabinet, at its meeting on 22nd March 2023, made the following decision in relation to the Arriving Passengers Regulations: Effective 1st April 2023, All visitors traveling to the Turks and Caicos Islands will NOT be required to show proof of the Covid-19 Vaccine.” the Minister of Health and Human Services Honourable Shaun D. Malcolm said.

The island previously lifted its mask mandate and the capacity restrictions placed on tourism establishments and restaurants.

Turks and Caicos is a popular destination among travelers, consisting of 40 islands across 37 miles. It has a bustling port for passengers aboard cruise ships. Last year, officials reported 734,446 passengers visited Turks and Caicos aboard cruise ships, a significant increase from the 26,573 passengers who visited the islands the year before.
