Twitter is dragging Michigan’s GOP candidate for governor after he stated that he would cancel Black History Month if he is elected.
Austin Chenge, the Black, “deeply conservative” 2022 Republican hopeful, announced on his social media platforms that he would replace Black History Month with “American History Month.” He said that the concept of an entire month dedicated to African Americans was “offensive” and “maybe illegal.” This did not sit well with users, specifically #BlackTwitter, who wasted no time bashing Chenge for his anti-Black beliefs.
