On Saturday, headlines went crazy after former President Donald Trump survived an assassination attempt during a rally in Pennsylvania. As details surrounding the incident unfolded, social media platforms lit up with individuals reacting to the shooting and sharing their opinions on the matter.
The shooting, which occurred right before the Republican National Convention, resulted in the death of one spectator and major injuries to two others. The Secret Service stated that the shooter “fired multiple shots toward the stage from an elevated position outside of the rally venue.” They confirmed that agents “neutralized the shooter, who is now deceased.” The gunman, identified by the FBI as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, was armed with an AR-style rifle and fired no more than eight rounds from a rooftop located 200-300 yards away.
