Netflix already teased us with different releases of episodes of its hit show, Love is Blind. While last night was supposed to be the show’s live reunion, the giant streaming platform had technical difficulties.
“We’re having trouble playing this title right now,” the company’s message read when trying to play the scheduled live event.
Viewers rushed to tune into a live event scheduled for 8pm EST Sunday. But reports of problems with streaming service began filing in on Downdetector, a site that relies on user reports and social media posts,
Thousands reported issues with “video streaming,” though only the live event appeared to be impacted.
But social media users were making up for the mishaps with their own entertainment and jokes about the platform’s technical difficulties.
“Don’t tell me Netflix crashed…..” one user tweeted.
“Y’all don’t deserve to increase prices when the shit is raggedy like this @netflix,” another wrote.
“We need a $5 credit on our accounts.”
“I’ve invested too much time in this fucking show for Netflix to choose everyone in the world’s TV to finally play the Love is Blind Live Reunion but mine. I’m having a BF.”
And, of course, there were comparisons to other streamers. “This was a fail. We had a lot of yummy appetizers and, after an hour of waiting, turned on @succession which you can’t compete with. Thankful that @hbomax is working! 🥂,” another posted.
While another said: “Netflix is acting like I thought Tubi would…😂“
Even Blockbuster capitalized off the moment, tweeting: “Remember renting vhs’ from us. You could start it on time, no problem… This is what we get.”
