Two chemistry professors at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, have been arrested and accused of manufacturing methamphetamine, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Department.
Terry, 45, and Bradley, 40, both associate professors of chemistry, were taken into custody on Friday afternoon, the sheriff’s department said in a news release. They face charges of manufacturing methamphetamine and using drug paraphernalia.
The case follows the closing of the university’s science center on October 8 after someone reported a chemical odor, the school said in a statement. The university has not said what was found there, and it has not confirmed whether the two men are suspected of making meth on campus. ABC News reports both professors have been on administrative leave since October 11.
The investigation is ongoing. The men are accused, not convicted, and no statement from either of them was included in the early reports.
