Two men have reportedly been arrested in connection with the armed robbery of Safaree Samuels, according to TMZ. The outlet reported that the men, identified as Jonathan and Shawn, were taken into custody after police chased them from New Jersey into New York over the George Washington Bridge. Both are presumed innocent until proven otherwise in court.
Safaree sat down with radio host Angie Martinez on Monday and described the incident, getting emotional as he spoke. The Love and Hip Hop star says the robbers got away with about $183,000 in cash and jewelry.
His attorney, James Leonard Jr., also released a statement about what happened: “This was not some random stick up attempt, this was an ambush specifically targeting Safaree by several men with guns.” The attorney added that the facts are chilling and that the family is grateful the incident did not end differently.
