Two Ohio University football players have been arrested on drug trafficking charges and suspended indefinitely by the school.
According to WOUB, cornerback Larenzo Fisher and redshirt freshman quarterback Greg Windham were arrested by Ohio University police on Wednesday, August 28. Fisher faces four counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs, while Windham faces one count. Each count is a fourth degree felony in Ohio.
The charges stem from the alleged sale of MDMA, commonly called Molly, in April and May, WOUB reported. The warrants came out of drug investigations by the Ohio University Police Department and the Athens County Prosecutor’s Office.
Both players were arraigned in Athens County Common Pleas Court and pleaded not guilty, according to WOUB and WCBE. Windham’s bond was set at $2,500 and Fisher’s at $10,000. Their trials are scheduled separately for November.
The Ohio athletic department said both players are suspended indefinitely. WOUB also noted that Fisher, a starter, was already serving a two game suspension tied to a separate offseason misdemeanor assault charge.
These are charges, not convictions, and both players are entitled to their day in court. We will keep you posted as the cases move forward.
