Pooh Shiesty is back in the middle of a viral hip hop conversation after an alleged video tied to the Gucci Mane robbery and kidnapping case surfaced online on Wednesday, July 1.
According to Akademiks, the clip appears to show Shiesty, another alleged affiliate, and a man dressed in yellow whose face is blurred. Many people online believe the blurred man is Gucci Mane. The voice attributed to the Atlanta rapper can be heard saying Shiesty had been dropped from 1017 Records. The Memphis rapper allegedly asks the man in the clip to tell people that he is being dropped from the label.
The alleged Pooh Shiesty video is getting attention because prosecutors have already referenced footage in the case. Federal authorities recently opposed Shiesty’s push for bond and included alleged screen grabs connected to the case. Prosecutors accused Big30, whose legal name is Rodney Wright Jr., of recording part of the alleged encounter on his phone after Shiesty allegedly asked him to do so.
Prosecutors alleged that Pooh Shiesty wanted a verbal release filmed after a written release had already been obtained. They also said the alleged footage showed one codefendant holding a firearm near Gucci Mane and another image of Gucci standing near Shiesty.
The federal case goes back to an alleged January 10 meeting at a Dallas recording studio. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, three music industry professionals traveled to Dallas for a scheduled business meeting that Shiesty allegedly arranged to discuss the terms of his recording contract with one of the victims. Prosecutors allege that once the men were inside the studio, Shiesty and eight codefendants carried out a coordinated armed takeover.
Shiesty allegedly produced an AK style pistol and forced one victim to sign a release from a recording contract at gunpoint. Prosecutors allege that other victims were robbed of Rolex watches, jewelry, cash, and other high value items. One victim was reportedly choked to the point of near unconsciousness, and Big30 blocked the studio door with his body to keep the victims from leaving.
The DOJ identified one alleged victim by the initials R.D., which led to widespread reporting that the person was Gucci Mane, whose legal name is Radric Davis. Reuters also reported that Pooh Shiesty and Gucci Mane were both connected to Atlantic Records, with Shiesty signed under Gucci Mane’s 1017 label.
The defendants listed in the case include Lontrell Williams Jr., Lontrell Williams Sr., Rodney Wright Jr., Kedarius Waters, Terrance Rodgers, Damarian Gipson, Demarcus Glover, Kordae Johnson, and Darrion McDaniel. The DOJ said Williams Sr., Shiesty’s father, is accused of helping plan and execute the alleged kidnapping.
Pooh Shiesty has denied the charges. The trial was originally scheduled for July 6, 2026, before being moved to February 22, 2027. This new date allows the “Back In Blood” star to keep lead attorney John Helms, who had another trial scheduled during the same week as the earlier date.
For now, neither side has confirmed the authenticity of the video. Until prosecutors, defense attorneys, or the court directly address the clip now circulating online, the video remains an unverified viral development.
