Tyreek Hill to Pay $500K to Estranged Wife Keeta Vaccaro: She’s Not the First Woman to Take Him to Court Over Alleged Physical Harm

The former Miami Dolphins star faces another costly legal setback involving a woman, raising questions about his previous cases, lost earnings, and whether the NFL will give him another opportunity.

Tyreek Hill to Pay $500K to Estranged Wife Keeta Vaccaro: She's Not the First Woman to Take Him to Court Over Alleged Physical Harm

Tyreek Hill and Keeta Vaccaro

Tyreek Hill’s attempt to return to professional football now comes with another serious obstacle after a Miami jury found him liable for two counts of battery against his estranged wife, Lakeeta “Keeta” Vaccaro, and awarded her $500,000 in damages.

The Tyreek Hill verdict, delivered October 13, 2026, adds another chapter to the wide receiver’s complicated legal history, which includes a separate settlement with a female model, a previous domestic violence case, and an ongoing NFL investigation.

According to the Associated Press, jurors determined that Hill was liable for battery stemming from two separate incidents in January 2024 and April 2025. However, they found him not liable on eight additional claims involving allegations of battery, assault, and continuing domestic violence.

Vaccaro received $500,000 in compensatory damages, but the jury declined to award punitive damages. That distinction matters because the decision represents a civil finding of liability, not a criminal conviction.

During the trial, Vaccaro described an allegedly abusive relationship, testifying that Hill pulled her hair and “treated me like I was, just, a man.”

Hill rejected most of her accusations, describing them as “false allegations.” However, he acknowledged shoving Vaccaro during one confrontation and admitted that the incident “created a hole in the wall.”

The Tyreek Hill verdict carries financial consequences, but the bigger question is whether another legal finding involving physical contact with a woman could jeopardize his remaining opportunities in the NFL.

This is not Hill’s first civil case involving allegations that he physically injured a woman.

In May 2026, Hill reached a settlement with social media influencer and model Sophie Hall, who accused him of breaking her leg during football drills at his Florida home in June 2023.

According to Local 10 News, Hall testified that Hill rushed toward her during a backyard training exercise, causing her to fall and suffer a fractured leg.

“I feel a pain beneath my knee, and I lose my breath and collapse,” Hall told the court.

Hill’s attorneys disputed her account, maintaining that she tripped over his dog during the exercise.

The case ended during its second day of trial after the parties reached an agreement. Hall dismissed her assault and battery claims, while the negligence dispute was settled.

CBS News Miami reported that attorneys declined to disclose the settlement terms. Consequently, the amount Hill agreed to pay, if any, cannot be independently confirmed.

The settlement was not a finding that Hill committed assault or battery. Still, it establishes that the current $500,000 judgment follows another significant civil dispute involving allegations of physical injury to a woman.

Hill’s history involving domestic violence allegations extends even further back.

As ESPN previously documented, Hill was arrested in December 2014 following an incident involving his then-pregnant girlfriend, Crystal Espinal.

He pleaded guilty in August 2015 to domestic assault and battery by strangulation and received a deferred sentence with probation and court-ordered requirements. Oklahoma State dismissed him from its football program following the initial incident.

After completing the conditions of his sentence, Hill had the case dismissed and his record expunged in 2018. That earlier criminal proceeding was separate from the civil lawsuits involving Hall and Vaccaro, and it should not be characterized as another undisclosed civil payout.

Those distinctions are especially important when evaluating the Tyreek Hill verdict and its possible effect on his football career.

Hill has already experienced a significant professional financial setback unrelated to the jury’s latest decision.

The Miami Dolphins released him in February 2026 while he was recovering from a serious knee injury sustained during the previous season.

CBS Sports reported that Hill’s remaining contract included $29.9 million in non-guaranteed base salary for 2026, with $11 million scheduled to become guaranteed if he remained on Miami’s roster at a specified deadline.

His release eliminated the opportunity to collect that money under the existing contract. The $29.9 million was not guaranteed income, however, and the roster decision preceded the latest verdict.

Hill remains a free agent, despite an accomplished career that includes eight Pro Bowl selections, five first-team All-Pro honors, and a Super Bowl championship with Kansas City.

His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, has indicated that he could potentially return to action by November as he recovers from his knee injury.

Yet his legal situation presents an entirely separate challenge.

According to NBC Sports, an NFL spokesperson confirmed after the verdict that the allegations remain under the league’s Personal Conduct Policy review.

“We have been monitoring developments in the matter, which remains under review of the personal conduct policy,” the spokesperson said.

Under the NFL’s disciplinary framework, domestic violence and certain physical assault violations can carry a baseline suspension of six games without pay, subject to aggravating or mitigating circumstances.

That does not mean Hill has automatically received a suspension. The league conducts its own review, and a civil verdict does not independently determine NFL discipline.

However, his previous legal history could become relevant if investigators conclude that he violated league rules.

The Tyreek Hill verdict also creates a practical problem for teams considering signing him. Beyond evaluating his recovery, franchises must weigh his potential availability, the possibility of disciplinary action, and the attention surrounding another case involving alleged violence against a woman.

A team interested in his receiving ability could still pursue him, but there is no guarantee that signing him would result in immediate playing time or an uninterrupted season.

For Hill, the $500,000 judgment is now a documented financial consequence, while the amount of his earlier settlement remains undisclosed.

His NFL future is less certain. Returning to the field will require more than recovering from injury or finding a team willing to offer a contract. It will also depend on how the league resolves its investigation and whether a franchise believes his remaining football value outweighs the uncertainty surrounding his conduct.
