Singer and actor Tyrese Gibson has apologized to his fans for his “complete” meltdown on social media. The singer says his prescription drugs are to blame for the entire incident.

“I want you guys to know that to this day I don’t drink, smoke or on any level do I do drugs,” he said in an Instagram rant Saturday.

“Because of this high stress and very traumatic experience I was advised then ultimately connected with multiple therapist[s] and psychiatrist[s] I had a few private meetings and these were the psych drugs that was suggested and this is the reason I had a complete meltdown online,” he writes in the caption of a photo of the medication he was allegedly prescribed.

Gibson, who was in the midst of an ugly custody battle with his ex Norma Gibson over their daughter Shayla, says his mind is clear and he is done taking the meds.

“This sh-t is completely out of my system,” he wrote. “I flushed these psych meds Down the toilet and I’m already back at 100% – please don’t chalk this up as “oversharing” a lot of people were effected by what these psych meds did to me over these last 2 months and this is my public apology I’m so very sorry guys.”

Since the meltdown, the child abuse investigation against Tyrese was dropped, however he’s also been accused of skipping court-approved visits with his daughter.

Despite the drama, Tyrese says that him publicly speaking about the prescription drugs shows his “transparency”.

“This will NOT compromise my case…. This is transparency and honesty and more of a heads up “don’t let folks suggest drugs especially psychiatric meds we all you need is to be still and and preset in the Lord and he will deal with your fights and reality”. Praying for you guys……..”
