Tyrese slammed his ex-wife, Samantha Lee, for alluding to reconciling with him following their tumultuous split.
On Monday, the “Sweet Lady” singer went live on Instagram to address Lee’s recent claim that she only divorced him due to other people in her ear. The performer was not moved by Lee’s come-to-Jesus moment and didn’t hesitate to call her out. In the lengthy video, Tyrese says Lee only made the statements to boost her YouTube channel.
“If you had people in your ear at the time, they must be still in your ear because you still trying to get $20,000 a month for a 5-year-old. You make $160,000 a year on your own,” he argued.
Days ago, Lee conducted an interview with the Hardly Initiated podcast, where she claimed that she was “extremely emotionally intoxicated” at the time of her split. Lee admitted that she failed to seek “pro-marriage” counsel, which would have likely been the couple’s therapy. Lee also claimed that if both she and Tyrese were willing to put in maximum effort, she may be open to repairing their marriage, something the entertainer says he is not going for.
“I don’t want no one to confuse me releasing songs singing about how I feel about Samantha with confusing me wanting this woman back. If I wanted her back, I would have got her back. I don’t want Sam,” he declared.
Lee hasn’t responded to Tyrese’s rant directly, though she did share an Instagram Reel about authenticity and accountability. Part of the post read, “I can’t talk about accountability if I’m unwilling to take full accountability for the parts I’ve played in my own past without making it about anyone else’s actions but my own.”
