Lance “Un” Rivera confirms that Jay-Z was not the individual responsible for stabbing him during a heated altercation at a Manhattan nightclub in December 1999.

In a recent conversation with DJ Vlad, the renowned music executive addressed the well-known incident involving himself and Jay-Z.

“What happened that night… I showed up to [the party] to support [Q-Tip]. Jay, a bunch of us is in there. I ended up getting surrounded by a bunch of people. It was probably 10 knives that I knew of, and I ended up getting stabbed at the Kit Kat Club,” Rivera said.

Although Jay-Z was the individual arrested and charged in connection with the incident, Rivera asserts that a member of his entourage stabbed him.

“No. Jay-Z was not the guy that actually stabbed me that night,” he added.

Rivera continued, “I don’t know where people got Jay-Z stabbed me from because if anybody knows Jay-Z, Jay-Z’s a nice guy. He’s an artist, a poet, gifted, and it’s never been his history. If JAY-Z had stabbed me, y’all wouldn’t have got The Black Album because through my whole history, I’m an eye-for-an-eye type of guy.”

Rivera further mentioned that the conflict between him and Jay-Z originated from rumors suggesting he leaked the rapper’s fourth studio album. According to Rivera, he and Jay had a conversation during which the mogul expressed his disappointment, repeatedly stating that Rivera had “broken” his heart with his actions.

On December 2, 1999, Jay-Z surrendered to the police regarding the stabbing incident and was subsequently arrested. He was later released on $50,000 bail. A year later, he was indicted but pleaded not guilty. However, he ultimately entered a plea deal, admitting to third-degree assault in exchange for three years of probation.
