Yesterday Addison Rae received much backlash after her appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show for not crediting Black TikTok Dancemakers.

Yesterday, TMZ was able to catch up with her and during the interview, she gave credit where it was due, “I think they were all credited in the initial YouTube posting, but it’s kind of hard to credit during the show,” she said when the reporter asked her how she felt about how everything was treated after her ‘Fallon’ video was posted. “But they all know how much I love them and how much I value them all,” she added, “and maybe one day we will all meet up and dance together.”

Rae claims to have talked with the majority of the Black TikTok developers and that she “really [wants] to work with all of them.” “They’re all incredible artists, and I’m sure I don’t do them justice.” They’re incredible,” she shouted.

Addison Rae, a social media celebrity, dancer, and now singer, has come under fire for performing a medley of TikTok dances without crediting the dances’ Black makers.

Her appearance was on a recent episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she was featured in a segment where she “taught” Fallon eight different TikTok dances. Fallon was by her side, carrying signs with each dance’s name as she went through the sequence of dances. Despite the fact that she was granted a national television platform, she and Fallon did not give credit to any of the dances, many of which were first performed by Black creators.

OManyusers are speaking out about the blatant disrespect that Black creators face in the entertainment industry. on Twitter

One user tweeted, “This is what white privilege looks like—Black creators innovate dances and do them amazingly but Addison Rae gets invited on Fallon to perform them in a ho-hum way. She’s not racist, Fallon’s not racist, but somehow the Black dancers are erased. Even though they dance better.”

Another user tweeted, “The fact that Addison Rae is championed for ‘Tik Tok Dances’ whilst the black creatives that made them never get the same platform will never sit right with me.”

More backlash followed the viral video, the user tweeted, “This is colonizer culture in real time cause she did not have the talent or creativity to come up with these dances but she’s getting the credit and exposure.”

This is cringey. But what’s worse is that Addison has been catapulted to being the face of viral dances created by mostly black tiktokers https://t.co/t4cDsoTQ8l

Setting aside the questions of ownership, just look at this video. It’s so miserable. Broken, exhausted culture. https://t.co/qOtJIQcV6O
