A lawsuit filed against Usher in 2017 has been dismissed, according to TMZ.
In court documents obtained by TMZ, Laura filed to dismiss her case, saying she and Usher had reached an amicable resolution. The terms were not disclosed. TMZ reports the dismissal was filed with prejudice, which means the claims cannot be refiled and is typically done when a financial settlement has been reached. Neither side has said what the resolution involved.
Laura sued in 2017, alleging that Usher exposed her to herpes. She first sought $10 million, then raised her demand to $20 million, citing emotional harm and punitive damages. TMZ reports she filed to dismiss in November 2017 for technical reasons before refiling in 2018.
TMZ’s report included no statement from Usher, and the allegations in the lawsuit were never proven in court. Attorneys on both sides reportedly used only the word amicable.
