The New Jersey trial of Love & Hip Hop star Mendeecees Harris got underway in Hackensack in February 2013, with the woman who made the accusation taking the stand, according to the Cliff View Pilot.
The woman, now 19, testified for more than an hour about the period in 2009 when she lived in the Lodi home Harris shared with his girlfriend. Prosecutors say the allegations involve her when she was a teenager. Baller Alert is not repeating the details of her testimony.
Assistant Bergen County Prosecutor Demetra Maurice told jurors that Harris faces seven counts related to the case, including giving money as an inducement. If convicted, Harris faces up to 20 years in prison.
The defense strongly disputes the case. Attorney Brian Neary told jurors during opening statements that the allegations were fabrications and that Harris “never, ever offered her money.”
