Three people who say they were hurt in the incident at Cameo nightclub in Miami Beach held a news conference Wednesday to detail what they allege happened with Miami Dolphins player Mike Pouncey and his brother Maurkice Pouncey of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Ricky, 24, joined Niya and Brentley, along with their attorney, Marwan Porter. Ricky described the moment he says it began, saying one of the Pouncey brothers hit him. “I caught a right, then a left,” he said. Niya and Brentley described injuries they say they suffered, including vision problems and headaches for Niya and a cut that needed stitches for Brentley. Local 10 News reported that the group planned to sue, though a filed lawsuit had not been confirmed.
The Pounceys’ attorney, Jeff Ostrow, has denied that the brothers took part in any altercation and says they did nothing wrong. Police have not named the brothers in the early incident report, and a club worker told Local 10 News the twins were seated a few tables away and were not involved. Ricky is the person who called police and filed a report at the scene. No one has been arrested.
These are allegations from one side, and they remain unproven. We will keep following the investigation.
