Norfolk police say they are investigating a domestic assault at the JANAF Shopping Center that left a man hospitalized with life threatening injuries, according to 13News Now.
Police say the incident happened Thursday afternoon, when a 34 year old Portsmouth woman named Bashira struck a man with her car. First responders were called around 3:45 p.m. and found the man on the ground, not moving, in the 5900 block of E. Virginia Beach Blvd.
Bystanders recorded video of the incident, and the footage that circulated online appears to show the woman driving into the man and then arguing with him as he lay on the ground. The man, who has not been publicly identified, was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital and was listed in critical condition as of 11 a.m. Friday.
Authorities arrested Bashira and charged her with aggravated assault. She was being held in the Norfolk City Jail without bond. A charge is an allegation, and a response from her was not included in the reports.
