Wendy Williams Under Fire

Robert Ector

Wendy Williams is under fire again after she appeared to make light of the death of a California therapist, who was once engaged to The Price is Right game show host, Drew Carey.

Amie Harwick’s brother Chris Hardwick is now demanding a public apology from the talk show host, calling Williams’ comments appalling.

Hardwick told Fox News, “Domestic violence is something no one should be joking about. This is a difficult time for my family, and for Wendy Williams to make light of this tragedy is very upsetting to us and extremely distasteful.”

Hardwick continued, “My sister worked tirelessly for domestic violence victims and women’s rights. Wendy Williams should apologize publicly to my family for her comment.”⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Wendy came under fire immediately after she brought up Hardwick’s death on her talk show while explaining the circumstances of the woman’s death to her audience, “She was killed, not by Drew, but by the ex,” Williams said.

She then used the game show’s catchphrase, saying, “Come on down,” before turning her head as if to follow someone falling out of a building. Williams’ audience stayed awkwardly silent as Wendy tried to change the subject.

Fans immediately began reacting on social media, voicing their disgust at Williams’s poorly timed attempt at humor.

Hardwick was allegedly murdered by her ex-boyfriend Gareth Pursehouse, whom she had recently broken up with. Cops said she had a restraining order against him, which had just recently expired. Pursehouse was arrested outside his home and booked on murder charges after Amie, 38, plummeted from a third-floor balcony to her death. He has already been released from a Los Angeles jail on a $2,000,000 bond.
