Wendy Williams joined the Breakfast Club earlier this week and fired back at reports that claim she’s suffering from frontotemporal dementia (FTD).
“I don’t have frontotemporal dementia…it’s disgusting,” Williams said on the radio program Wednesday. “That’s a very rare thing for anybody to have.”
“I’m not incapacitated,” she added. “I am not a baby.”
Hours after the former talk show host spoke out, her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, requested a “new medical evaluation” in a court filing.
In the filing, Morrissey expressed concern over Wendy’s public statements and requested a “new medical evaluation” to assess her current health status.
The filing highlights a prior diagnosis of FTD and primary progressive aphasia (PPA), both serious conditions that worsen over time and affect cognitive function.
According to Morrissey, Wendy’s legal capacity to handle her own affairs is in question, and further tests are needed to get a clearer picture of her health.
Morrissey is also pursuing a lawsuit against A&E, hoping to recover money to cover Wendy’s ongoing healthcare needs.
However, she clarified that if Wendy’s new evaluation shows she’s mentally fit, the lawsuit would likely be dropped.
