Wendy Williams reportedly had a tense interaction with a judge this week who gave her a tough scolding about her career.

During a recent court appearance tied to her guardianship case, Wendy Williams was reportedly “hurt” after Judge Lisa Sokoloff made harsh comments about her professional life. According to TMZ, the judge remarked that Williams “had a great run but that it’s now over,” bluntly adding, “It’s done.”

Sources told the outlet the remarks seemed unprompted and deeply affected the former talk show host. Sokoloff also criticized Williams’ niece, Alex Finnie, accusing her of leaking sensitive details to the press and warning she would face sanctions if it happened again. The judge even went as far as calling Wendy’s family “no good.”

Williams’ new attorney, Joe Tacopina, pushed back against the judge’s remarks, saying they came during a “court proceeding that has nothing to do with her career” and showed “bias.” Tacopina insisted Williams is “absolutely capable” of returning to television.

Last month, Williams shared her desire to move forward, saying, “At this point in my life, I want to terminate [the] guardianship and move on with my life, if that’s possible at all,” during an interview on “The View.”

Williams was placed under guardianship in 2022 after Wells Fargo froze her accounts, citing concerns over her declining health. Diagnosed with Graves’ disease in 2018 and frontotemporal dementia in 2023, she now resides in a New York care facility under the supervision of court-appointed guardian Sabrina Morrissey.
