Three Florida gang members have been arrested after a fellow member said he was attacked and a racial slur was tattooed onto his neck, according to the Miami Herald, which cited the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and an arrest affidavit.
Michael told authorities that on January 28, a group of fellow gang members came to his home and demanded he go with them to cover a gang tattoo, saying he had broken the group’s rules. He said two of them held him down and that he was knocked unconscious with an unknown object while the tattooing began. When he fully woke up, he said, he was in pain and his phone was missing. The sheriff’s office said the new tattoo contained a misspelled version of a racial slur, and that the older gang tattoo was still visible underneath.
Lucian, Brandon and Mary were arrested. Per the Herald, Lucian faces charges including aggravated battery and armed robbery, Brandon faces battery, aggravated battery and armed robbery, and Mary faces aggravated battery and armed robbery. A fourth person named in the report, Brett, had not been charged as of the Herald’s reporting. Charges are allegations, and the reporting included no comment from the accused or their attorneys.
The Herald noted that accounts differed on details such as who was carrying a knife during the encounter.
