A video that spread widely online in October 2018 shows a confrontation in a Charlotte, North Carolina apartment complex, and it has led to reported charges and the loss of a job.
The sisters Chele and Leisa say they were waiting for AAA roadside service when a woman named Susan approached them. Chele posted the video to Facebook. According to the video, Susan asked “Is your baby daddy here?” and told them “You’re hanging around a place you don’t belong.” She is also heard repeatedly saying “I’m white,” and claiming she makes $125,000 at her job. The Charlotte Observer reported she also yelled, “Do I need to bring out my concealed weapon, too?”
In the video the sisters stay calm and ask her to leave them alone. One of them is heard calling 911 and saying, “The lady was pushing me in my face.” She also said, “I’m a resident just like her,” and public records and the video indicate one of the sisters lives at the complex. The Facebook post had passed one million views and 16,000 shares at the time of this report.
A spokesperson for the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department said warrants were issued for Susan, though they had not yet been served. Reports at the time said the charges were simple assault and communicating threats. Susan’s employer, reported to be Spectrum, was also said to have ended her employment because of the video.
Charges are allegations, and Baller Alert has not seen a response from Susan.
