A Whitney Houston hologram that was supposed to debut on the The Voice a few years ago has suddenly reemerged, newly improved, but according to TMZ, her estate says they had NO idea that was happening.

Record producer Scott Storch recently partnered with Hologram USA to put on a variety show that featured live performances and cameos from icons of the past. This is the same company that created holograms for Tupac and Michael Jackson a few years ago.

The show was released on the network FilmOn TV and hosted by Scott Storch. Producers also wanted to give dedication to late icons like Jackie Wilson, Billie Holiday, Pac, Biggie, and MJ, as well as some icons that are still alive like Ray J and Chief Keef.

When the Whitney Houston hologram zapped on the screen, it took people by surprise because fans knew that any plans for a Whitney hologram were scrapped back in 2016.

At that time, photos of the hologram, which was supposed to include a duet with Christina Aguilera, leaked online a few days prior to the Finale of “The Voice.” But Whitney’s estate pulled the plug on the performance last minute because they did not like the hologram’s look.

Alki David was the guy who worked on the Whitney hologram, and sources close to him say that he went back and tweaked the holograms image to make sure that it was right for the new Scott Storch show.

According to US Weekly, David did not get an OK from her estate to release the hologram. But he feels that it’s his work, and he had the right to pick back up on the masterpiece.

Sources with direct knowledge say that her estate does not agree, and they are currently weighing their legal options since he did not receive permission to do so.
