Yesterday we told you about former VH1 Baseball Wives star Anna Benson and her allegations that Stevie J and Joseline kept belongings she says she left with them, including place settings, a big screen TV and a bedroom set. Many readers asked who Anna is, so here is a quick look at her story as reported in May 2014.
Anna Benson is a reality television personality who became known as the wife of MLB pitcher Kris Benson, the first pick in the 1996 baseball draft. The two married in October 1999 and had children together. She filed for divorce in 2006 and later withdrew the petition, and in 2012 Kris filed for divorce. Anna appeared on VH1’s Baseball Wives in 2011.
The couple’s split made headlines in 2013. According to news reports, Anna entered her estranged husband’s Georgia home armed, damaged property and demanded money. She was arrested and later pleaded guilty to charges including aggravated assault and weapons offenses. As reported by the New York Daily News, she was sentenced to 15 years of probation and ordered to complete inpatient psychiatric treatment. Kris Benson has custody of the couple’s children, according to those reports.
Now Anna says she is back home and doing better. She has been posting inspirational quotes and Bible verses on Twitter. She has also been open about her past, writing that people call her crazy and that she has learned to stop letting that label define her.
As for the dispute over her belongings, Anna alleges that Stevie J and Joseline took items she says were meant to be stored for her while she was away. Stevie J has addressed her claims on Twitter. These are allegations and not proven facts, and we have not seen a response from Joseline.
